Bruce’s career started in 2006 after graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. He was drawn to this profession through his lifelong love of sport. As a kid, he played as many sports as he could, and when he wasn’t playing an organized sport, he was off running through the neighboring forest, climbing trees, or exploring on his bike.
His vision became clear: to find work that would help support his desire to stay fit and healthy for life, sport and adventure. What better way to do this than pursue a career in this amazing profession and learn more about the miraculous workings of the human body.
Over the years his practice has evolved from a biomechanical model of pain to a biopsychosocial one. This approach looks at the complex interaction between the biological, psychological and social factors that underlay pain. It has led to a paradigm shift in how he thinks and feels about pain, and consequently how he treats patients with pain.
With this in mind, his goals for treatment have become clearly defined. The patient’s comfort is always paramount. He provides a safe and calming environment, and listens attentively to each individual’s story without judgment. Along with educating his patients, he uses a variety of techniques to try to decrease any perceived threat to the nervous system and utilize science-based best practices to treat the neurophysiology of pain. His patients always leave feeling like they’ve been worked on, without feeling like they’ve been worked over.
When Bruce isn’t treating patients, he can be found playing with his two young boys (aka the two terrors) and hanging out with his beautiful wife. And, when the universe allows it, he’ll be out running, mountain biking, and playing basketball.
Bruce’s career started in 2006 after graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in...

Ben Stebbins has earned his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master’s of Science degree in Sports Medicine, with the ambition of helping people to get out (and stay out!) of pain. He aspires to make his patients stronger and more resilient so they can get back to the activities they love.
He is not your traditional Chiropractor, he is one of those “New Age Chiropractors” that his clinical resident group was so appreciatively deemed by one of their happy patients. He respects the history and roots of his profession, but truly believes that Movement is Medicine, and that no patient is the same. So, they should not all receive the same “cookie cutter” approach to treatment. He uses the skills he has mastered in school, combined with extensive seminars and continuing education in rehabilitation, movement mastery and sports performance to individualize each patients’ path to improved health. Ben has been involved in the sporting world his entire life, focusing on lacrosse for the majority of his career. After figuring out he wasn’t any good anymore and fighting with injuries and pain, he wanted to be able to help other athletes, weekend warriors, and anyone else who wanted to avoid or recover from injury. His obsession with strength, health, and human performance became his new career path.
While working with the Canadian Forces his skills and enthusiasm for the profession grew; he developed a greater appreciation for the necessity of quality rehabilitation and functional assessment. These experiences were key in inspiring an evolution in Ben’s Chiropractic philosophy; and led him towards a more holistic and thorough approach.
Born and raised in Victoria, he has come home to provide his services to anyone looking to not only get out of pain, but also to increase their ability to do the activities they love. Whether it is picking up your grandchild or preparing for your upcoming season, it’s Ben’s goal to combine his extensive education and clinical background to maximize the goals of everyone he serves. In his spare time, Ben likes to engage in a number of extra-curricular activities and volunteer work such as offering his services at various sporting events, acting as the Vice President of the UWS Rehab 2 Performance Club, and attending various educational seminars on anything from rehabilitation to pain science to athletic development, and beyond.

Growing up in Victoria, Matt led an active lifestyle full of soccer, hiking, golfing, snowboarding and, ultimately, a few injuries along the way. The subsequent time spent working with physiotherapists sparked his ambition and excitement to work in the clinical setting. Matt’s love of learning, of helping others, and of the human body made a career in Physiotherapy the perfect fit.
His Bachelor degree at the University of Victoria in Kinesiology was his first formal foray into the musculoskeletal rehab world; he loved applying what he learned with patients and partnering with people to work towards their goals. His next step was to spend several years working as a behavioural interventionist with youth and adults living with physical and developmental disabilities. During this time, Matt decided that there was still more to learn, and so made the decision to go back to school to complete his Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia.
Since completing this program Matt has enjoyed a variety of clinical experiences, having worked at a neurological rehab clinic as well as in a musculoskeletal setting. His clinical reasoning and scope of understanding has benefited from these varied exposures.
Matt first connected with the PT team at Tall Tree by way of their Education Program (Accelerated Motion Physiotherapy–AMP). He found their philosophies and progressive stance resonated with him; in particular, he was drawn to their evidence-lead practice and their focus on client-centered care. With an outlook to continue his education indefinitely, Matt thought it would be a perfect fit to work alongside the AMP team and avail himself of their educational offerings and the staff room discussions of patient care, innovative practices, and new research.
In addition to the AMP programming, Matt has taken courses in manual and manipulative therapy and is in the process of completing a clinical Transitional Doctorate degree of Physical Therapy. This drive to learn comes from equal parts curiosity and dedication to provide the best possible treatment for his clients.
Matt is excited to be back on the Island and looking forward to joining a soccer team, getting back up to Mt. Washington, refining his golf game, and finally hiking, camping, and exploring throughout Strathcona Provincial Park – hopefully all injury free this time!

I bring a wealth of firsthand experience garnered over years of elite athletic competition and professional engagement. For the better part of a decade, I was a Team Canada Athlete playing Rugby 7’s and also spent a year in the NFL. I retired in 2021 from sports and began my journey into the world of movement and exercise. From my early years as a young athlete, all the way through my professional career, I’ve been fortunate enough to observe and be surrounded by some of the best support staff this industry has to offer.
Having endured my fair share of injuries, both minor and major, I intimately comprehend the physical and mental challenges of rehabilitation. It can be hard, time consuming, and rarely is a linear path. It’s a real test of our mental and emotional fortitude, and requires a deep commitment to yourself to overcome in a positive way. This is where the core of my methodology lies in how I coach. I prioritize establishing
meaningful relationships and connections so this process becomes a journey that we go on together. We set the intentions for our commitment to ourselves, set the expectations for how to best approach daily recovery habits and training, and rebuild ourselves stronger than we were prior to being injured.
With my blend of practical expertise, empathetic understanding, and a relentless commitment to providing you with the best care, I am confident we can achieve our goals and emerge stronger than ever.
